How We Got to Martha's Vineyard

People near and far always ask us how we ended up all the way on Martha's Vineyard. Well I'll tell you... It's simple really. It was 2008 and I had just graduated from BYU-I, we were married and looking for jobs. Brent had a degree in Construction Management and was looking to go into custom home building so he applied all over the country. We love the east so we emphasized that area. However the housing market was (and is) pitifully sparse in the hiring department so out of hundreds of applications only 2 took bait. One of them was a small family-owned company building stunning custom homes on Martha's Vineyard. Brent talked with the head of that company off and on but it wasn't going as quickly as we'd liked and time was running out. So we decided if Brent was going to get the job we'd have to make a trip out there and see it all face to face. We did, fell in love with the island, and the boss really liked Brent so he was hired. About a month later we moved out to the Vineyard and ever since then have called it home.
