Maybeline's Room
I've always loved and admired birds. So quant, light, and pleasant. So I decided to do Maybeline's room somewhat vintage, somewhat bird, and very feminine. I'm no interior designer but I loved the way it came out. Each piece was found on a different occasion such as the beautiful bird pillow (thank you Mom!), the rug handmade on the Vineyard, and the picture frames. I color copied photos from the bird book I bought at the antique market and collected frames from TJ Maxx and Home Goods which made the wall collage. The curtain and dust ruffle (made by my Wonder Woman sister Tracey) was actually 3 table clothes I found at TJ Maxx. I wrapped 2 of them around a branch from our yard for the curtain and the thirst one made the dust ruffle on the crib. Although she hasn't really used her room very much yet.. I know she loves it!

just beautiful! Can you design my baby's room when I have a little girl? It's just so pleasing to the eye, I love the charm of the little vintage bird cage. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh tooo much fun! Happy playing house! :) How can life get any better? Love every inch of it! ...also you had better keep telling me when you add something to your blog, as I almost missed this! Love you!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am glad you posted this... the sisters need to see how DARLING her room is! It all pulled together with all of the last minute touches. So gorgeous! I love that you captured the details of the pearls on the bird cage... you should be an interior decorator... awesome. Oh, and love the "needle point" bird from the estate sale.... just the right touch. Love it!! Now I can't help but see vintage birds and think of you. Also, I just got my fall Pottery Barn catalog... did you see the costumes? There is a DARLING GIRL OWL costume... it has Mabeline written all over it... oh and look at the birdie sheet set... it is YOU to a T! Love you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room! I could live there! She is livin' in the Ritz. :) Great taste Lis. Poor Kirra... she never had that kind of room as a baby... or even now sharing with a brother. ha ha But my living room looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteOh... I forgot to say... my favorite spot is all the framed pics of the birds. So peaceful! I feel like I can hear the birds chirping on a Saturday morning waking up as a kid. Awwweee. Memorires! :)
