Being only 30 min from the ferry, we decided to take full advantage of Plymouth this year for our Thanksgiving celebration. After a fabulous day of yummy food (thank you Cannons!), games, and football in Boston we toured the Mayflower and pondered the power of such a small rock... Plimoth Rock...
No, that's not it. But its size is not far off.
This is the supposed- actual (like that?) Plimoth Rock with a whole lot of folklore to be heard.
We learned a lot about the the pilgrims, their trek, and the indians. Have you ever heard of Unthanksgiving Day or the National Day of Mourning? Pretty funny stuff. Let's just say it isn't all feast and happiness. And did you know that Lincoln accidentally called Day of Harvest Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving was actually a day of fasting.
Sleeping arrangements for 65 loooonnnngg nights.
Yeah, didn't I tell you that Plymouth Rock itself is not all that awesome. Word on the street is that is NOT really Plymouth Rock, but a large rock someone found near there. The idea is that Plymouth Rock was just a rocky shore that stuck out, not an actual ROCK. Go figure. Cool stuff. Fun times! Love Miss Maybeline sleeping in her pink bonnet... precious.
