Back to the mission!

Sorry this blog is a bit discombobulated! But another stop we made was to DC to visit Lisa's mission as well as see our beautiful nation's capital! The Childs, Visitor Center director and his wife. They are the only missionaries I know anymore! Crazy how time goes. The Washington Family! What a blessing to get to know this spunky family! I had so much fun singing gospel songs "This is the day! This is the day! That the Lord has made!" They are such a great family with the Lord right underneath them. Shelley is one of the most faithful people I know! I love you Washingtons! Yvonne! I love this woman from Zambia! We were teaching her in our last area. She was your typical stubborn African woman. They tell it like it is and if they don't like you they'll tell you. However, we felt really good about her so we persisted. Eventually we became such good friends even to the point of running together at 6 am. Actually, she'd ride her 3 wheel bike and we'd push her up the hills. Then when we'd reach the top she'd fly down the hill waving back to us as if to say "See ya! Thanks for the push!" She just got baptized! I could not believe it! When I saw her she looked so happy. I could see the beautiful effects the gospel had brought to her life. I love you Yvonne! This is the Shaffer family. They were kind enough to let us stay at their place and provide the DREAMIEST meal! What a great cook!

  1. How fun to see friends again. Were they so excited to see you and meet Brent? What a fun vacation. Stew always says he want to take me back to Canada. It just hasn't worked out, after 13 years. :)
